Instrument Repairs in Washington, DC

middle C music store front small

Due to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding us all, we’re taking extra precautions to ensure that we can safely provide you with this service.

First, please call Middle C at (202) 244-7326, Monday-Saturday 11-6 pm. We will set up a drop-off time for your instrument and fill out a repair ticket. Once that’s been done, please come at your allotted time and drop-off the instrument. Middle C staff will sanitize the case and isolate it for three days. After that, the instrument will be taken to our technician. The turnaround is usually one week, but at this time it may be longer.

Keep in mind that all repairs are in the $180 – $245 range. We will only call you if the amount is over $250.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Guitar & Bass Repairs

Our guitar repair team is led by Mark Noone. Repairs typically take a week; instruments go out on Wednesdays and will usually be back by the following Wednesday.

No guitar repairs will be accepted without a case. Transporting a guitar without a case can cause damage. If you do not have a case, you must purchase one before leaving your instruments.

Please feel free to call or stop by with any specific questions. Here are our prices for common repairs (prices may vary depending on your guitar):

  • Set up (truss rod adjustment, pickup height adjustment, action and intonation adjustment) – $70
  • New tuning machines (no drilling) – $40 + parts
  • Strap button installation – $20
  • Electronics – $45 base fee (soldering loose connections, etc.)
  • Replace pickups, pots, switches and connections – $30 + parts
