Private Music Lesson Tuition
At Middle C Music, we offer structured private music lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are designed to provide consistent progress through personalized instruction and regular weekly practice.
Private lessons allow each student to receive individual attention from their instructor. Teachers adjust the pace, materials, and teaching approach based on the student’s experience, musical interests, and learning goals.
Most students attend lessons weekly so they can build skills steadily throughout the year. Our school operates 50 weeks per calendar year, allowing students to maintain consistent progress while still having scheduled breaks.
Lesson Options
Students can choose between two standard lesson lengths.
30 Minute Private Lesson: $245 per month
60 Minute Private Lesson: $490 per month
Monthly tuition represents the average cost of 50 lessons per year, divided evenly across the year to keep billing consistent.
Many younger students begin with 30-minute lessons, while intermediate and advanced students often benefit from 60-minute sessions that allow for deeper technical work, repertoire study, and musical development.
Introductory Lesson
New students begin with an introductory lesson before enrolling in regular weekly instruction.
This first lesson allows students and parents to:
- Meet the teacher
- Experience how lessons are structured
- Discuss goals and musical interests
- Determine the best lesson length
- Start playing the instrument
Introductory lesson pricing:
30-minute introductory lesson: $59
60-minute introductory lesson: $118
Introductory lessons are billed individually and are not part of the monthly tuition.
Monthly Tuition and Billing
Lessons are billed monthly to reserve a student’s recurring lesson time.
Key tuition details:
- Tuition is charged on the 1st of the month prior to lessons being given

- Tuition reflects an average monthly rate based on 50 teaching weeks per year

Half Credits Policy
We understand that occasional scheduling conflicts may occur. To provide flexibility, students receive half credits during each enrollment period.
Each student receives three half credits per trimester:
- January to April
- May to August
- September to December
Half credits may be used when:
- A student cannot provide 24 hours’ notice for an absence
- A reschedule cannot be found on the teacher’s schedule
Half Credit Value
30-minute lesson, half credit: $29.50
60-minute lesson, half credit: $59
Half credits are applied to the student’s next monthly bill.
Why Weekly Lessons Matter
Consistent weekly lessons help students build strong musical habits and maintain steady improvement.
Regular instruction allows students to:
- Develop technique gradually
- Receive ongoing feedback from their instructor
- Stay motivated through structured learning
- Progress through repertoire more efficiently
Students who attend lessons consistently typically see the greatest improvement and long term musical growth.
