Overview
To help lessons run smoothly for students, families, and instructors, Middle C Music follows a clear set of studio policies. These policies explain how scheduling, lesson changes, and studio events are handled.
Our goal is to create a consistent learning environment where students can focus on building musical skills while families understand how lessons are organized.
If you ever have questions about lessons, scheduling, or tuition, our team is happy to help.
Lesson Scheduling
Lessons at Middle C Music are scheduled on a recurring weekly basis whenever possible. A consistent weekly lesson time helps students develop skills through regular practice and instruction.
Students keep the same instructor and lesson time each week unless a change is requested and approved.
To manage scheduling, make changes, or ask questions about your lessons, you can reach our team by email, phone, or by speaking directly with the front desk.
Makeup Lesson Policy
We understand that students may occasionally need to miss a lesson due to illness, school events, or family commitments.
To be eligible for a makeup lesson, 24 hours advance notice is required before the scheduled lesson time. Students who miss a lesson without giving notice will forfeit that lesson, no makeup or credit will be issued.
Makeup lessons are subject to instructor availability and are not guaranteed. There is no limit on the number of makeups a student may use, but makeup lessons expire 30 days after they are issued and cannot be carried over.
Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
If a student needs to cancel or change a scheduled lesson, the studio should be notified as early as possible.
24 hours notice is required to be eligible for a reschedule. Please note that students are billed for their lesson regardless of notice given, cancellation notice determines reschedule eligibility, not billing.
For same-day cancellations due to illness or emergencies, a half-credit is applied to the account to help cover the instructor’s time. Exceptions may be made in extreme circumstances at the studio’s discretion.
To stop lessons entirely, students must provide 15 days’ written notice. There is no minimum enrollment period; students may discontinue lessons at any time with proper notice.
Recitals and Studio Events
Middle C Music hosts recitals in the studio throughout the year so students can share what they have been learning. Recitals are held on average twice per year per teacher, and are free to participate in; there is no performance or recital fee.
These events help students build confidence, gain performance experience, and celebrate their progress with family and friends. Participation is optional but encouraged.
Upcoming recital dates are announced throughout the year. Contact the front desk for current scheduling.
Payments and Billing
Lesson payments are billed on a recurring basis and automatically charged to the credit card on file. Payments must be kept current to maintain the student’s lesson spot.
Accepted payment methods: Credit card (autopay). Bank transfers are not accepted.
Payments are processed automatically, no manual action is required each billing cycle.
Withdrawals and Enrollment Changes
If a student needs to discontinue lessons, 15 days notice is required. There is no minimum enrollment period.
Providing advance notice allows instructors to adjust their schedules and offer the time slot to another student.
