About Dr. Yiwen Zhu
Yiwen Zhu is a pianist and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and has extensive experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist.
Dr. Zhu has received multiple teaching awards and recognition for her work as a piano educator. Her students have achieved strong results in ABRSM examinations, been accepted into university and graduate music programs, and gained admission to Walnut Hill School for the Arts. She also gained music education experience through internships with Boston Public Schools and the education department of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio.
Her recent performances and touring projects feature works by Asian composers, women composers, and interdisciplinary programs that connect music with visual art.
As a dedicated educator, Dr. Zhu emphasizes a strong technical foundation, musical understanding, and expressive performance.
