Student Rules, Regulations, and Policies
Welcome to The Musicians’ Woodshed! We are excited to have you as part of our musical community. These policies are designed to help create a positive, productive, and enjoyable learning environment for all students, families, instructors, and staff.
Tuition & Pricing
Monthly Tuition
Monthly tuition is billed on the 1st of each month for students enrolled in weekly recurring lessons.
- 30-minute weekly lessons: $180 per month
- 50-minute weekly lessons: $270 per month
Monthly tuition reserves your recurring lesson time each week and is not based on the number of lessons in a particular month.
Trial Lessons
Trial lessons are available for $25 for students interested in enrolling in weekly lessons.
Pay-As-You-Go Lessons
Pay-as-you-go lessons may be scheduled weekly based on instructor availability.
- 30-minute lesson: $50
- 50-minute lesson: $75
Payment is due at the time of scheduling. Pay-as-you-go lessons are non-refundable, and no make-up lessons, credits, or reschedules will be offered for any reason.
Automatic Billing
Monthly tuition is charged on the 1st of each month. A 3-day grace period is provided. If payment has not been received by the 4th day of the month, a $35 late fee will be added to the account.
Student Expectations
Attendance & Punctuality
Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons. Consistent attendance is essential for musical growth and progress. Students should arrive on time for each lesson. If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time.
Preparation & Practice
Students are expected to follow the practice recommendations provided by their instructor. Regular practice is an important part of skill development. Students should bring all required materials to each lesson, including instruments, sheet music, books, and any assigned practice materials. Students are also expected to complete assignments or exercises given by their instructorbefore the next lesson.
Student Perks
Woodshed Live Recitals
Every 3–4 months, we host a concert featuring our students and the music they have been working on in lessons. These performances may take place at one of our studio locations or at local venues.
Practice Time
Students may use the indoor stage for practice during the week, Monday through Friday, subject to availability. Additional times may be available by request. The lounge may also be available for use during lessons.
Step Onstage
We host multiple Step Onstage programs throughout the year. Bands are arranged after auditions, and students participate in 10 weeks of rehearsals before performing locally.
2026 Holidays & Studio Closures
The studio will be closed on the following dates:
- March 16–21: Spring Break
- May 25: Memorial Day
- July 3–4: Independence Day
- September 7: Labor Day
- November 23–27: Thanksgiving Break
- December 22, 2026–January 2, 2027: Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Break
2026 Events (North Parmer)
Ending Lessons
To discontinue lessons, notice must be given to the front desk or studio office by 8:00 PM on the 15th of the month you wish to be your final month of lessons.
For example, if you would like January to be your final month, notice must be received by January 15 at 8:00 PM. If notice is received after the deadline, lessons will continue through the end of the following month. For example, notice received on January 16 would make February the final month of lessons.
There is no cancellation fee to end a recurring lesson plan.
Teachers cannot accept withdrawal notices. All lesson termination requests must be Terminations are to be submitted through our online form:
Cancellation & Make-Up Policy
24-Hour Cancellation Policy
Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, including no-call/no-show absences, are forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.
Students are eligible for a make-up lesson only when the studio is notified more than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time.
Make-Up Lessons
- No credits or refunds are given for missed lessons.
- Students are allowed one make-up lesson per quarter, per instrument, subject to availability.
- Make-up lessons are not guaranteed.
- Once a lesson has been rescheduled, it cannot be rescheduled again.
- Make-up lessons are scheduled only during available instructor times.
- The studio may notify families of openings created by other student cancellations, or families may check with the front desk for availability.
- Lessons canceled by the teacher will be made up promptly, taught by a substitute instructor, or otherwise handled by the studio.
- If a student needs to reschedule multiple lessons, the studio may assist with finding a new recurring lesson day or time moving forward.
- All scheduling changes and questions must be communicated with the front desk. Teachers cannot accept scheduling changes or cancellation requests directly.
Virtual Lesson Option
All teachers can provide virtual lessons when needed. If a student cannot attend in person, please notify the front desk the morning of the lesson to arrange a virtual lesson during the student’s regular lesson time.
Virtual lessons are also available for students who are ill and prefer not to attend in person.
Gifted Lessons
Students may gift their scheduled lesson time to a family member or friend. The gifted lesson must take place during the student’s regularly scheduled lesson time.
Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of hazardous weather or unsafe travel conditions, lessons may be moved to a virtual format.
If a student declines a virtual lesson offered due to inclement weather, no make-up, credit, refund, or reschedule will be provided.
In the event of a power outage or studio-related closure, we will work to reschedule the lesson with the student’s teacher or a substitute instructor. Declining an offered substitute lesson may result in forfeiting the session.
Substitute Instructor Policy
If a teacher is absent, the studio may provide a substitute instructor. If a student declines a lesson with a substitute instructor, the lesson will be forfeited.
Communication
All scheduling changes, billing questions, cancellations, make-up requests, and lesson termination notices must be communicated through the front desk or studio office.

Social Media, Photos & Performances
We love celebrating our students and their accomplishments. The Musicians’ Woodshed may share student performances, photos, or videos for studio-related promotional purposes, including social media and advertising. Students’ last names will not be shared. For students under 18, parent or guardian consent may be required.
Families who do not wish for their student to be photographed, recorded, or featured should notify the studio office in writing.
Changes to Policies
The Musicians’ Woodshed reserves the right to update or change these policies as needed. Students and families will be notified of significant changes.
By participating in lessons and programs at The Musicians’ Woodshed, students and families agree to follow these policies and contribute to a supportive, respectful, and effective learning environment.
