About Yina Ma
Yina Ma started violin lessons at 4 years old. Because her father is a violinist, she naturally started learning violin with him. Through the years, she came to discover that she wanted to devote her life to it. She has played with many different ensembles, including the Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera Orchestra, Shanghai Jazz Orchestra, Claremont Symphony Orchestra, and Palo Alto Philharmonic. After receiving her MA at Claremont Graduate University, she studied film scoring and classical music composition at UCLA Extension. She loves teaching not only because she can pass on her skills to her students, but also communicate the beauty of this world to them in a musical way. No matter how they go about receiving the message, she wants them to build their own musical aesthetic from which they can derive supreme joy and spiritual support in their lives. In her spare time, she enjoys the great outdoors, going to concerts and arts museums.
