Woodwind Family
Creative Music provides woodwind instrument rentals such as flutes,
piccolos, clarinets, tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, and oboe.
The two types of woodwind instruments are flutes and reed instruments. Flutes and piccolos are used by blowing a stream of air below a small hole and down a tube. Reed instruments such as clarinets, saxophones and oboes are used by blowing air into a mouthpiece with a reed, which causes it to vibrate. Learn more about each instrument below.
Brass Family
Creative Music offers brass instrument rentals for trumpets, trombones, french horn and baritone horn.
Brass instruments are used by vibration of air through the tube in sync with the vibration of the player’s lips. Valved instruments are operated by the player’s fingers and when pushed introduce new tubing to the airflow, thus changing the pitch. Slide instruments use a slide to increase or decrease the length of tube. Learn more about each instrument below.
Percussion
Creative Music offers rentals of percussion instruments such as a snare kit, bell kit, and combo kit. We also provide private lessons for drums.
Percussion instruments are typically sounded by being struck, scraped or rubbed with a mallet or beater. Most often, you’ll have pitched percussion instruments, such as the bell kit, which produces notes with a noticeable pitch, or unpitched percussion instruments, such as a snare drum. String Family
Creative Music provides rentals of String Instruments such as the viola, violin, cello, and upright bass. We also offer lessons for these instruments, and lessons for guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele as well.
String instruments are played by either plucking or strumming the strings with your fingers, or rubbing the strings with a bow. The vibration of the strings creates an echo within the hollow cavity, which makes the sound more audible. Learn more about each instrument below. See the sizing chart here.
Piano & Voice
Creative Music provides lessons for piano and voice. We also sell keyboards and audio equipment as well.
