At The Creative Music Center, we focus on a few key elements of music education when students come to our school for brass lessons. We strive to make it fun, to help students develop strong technical skills, and to completely customize the learning experience to the individual goals of each student.
We help students master the trumpet, trombone, french horn, baritone horn. Our brass instructors are dedicated to helping you achieve your musical goals, whether you are preparing for a school band audition, competing for a prestigious award, or just looking to improve your own skills.

From classical orchestras to high school marching bands, the brass section plays a leading role in producing dynamic and impactful performances. At The Creative Music Center, we teach a variety of brass instruments – including trumpet, tuba, french horn, and trombone – each of which plays a critical role in bringing to life the music we know and love.
Regardless of your specific instrument, one thing is consistent across all of our brass offerings: fun! Simply put, we want all of our students to LOVE their music lessons. The Creative Music Center’s experienced staff blends a high standard of music education with a creative, student-focused approach that gives students space to discover and nurture their passion for music – while having fun along the way.
02 We Emphasize Healthy Technique
We believe mastery of fundamentals is key to providing a strong foundation for a musician’s growth. At The Creative Music Center, you’ll learn the key elements of strong brass technique including breath support, voicing, embouchure, articulation, finger technique, and posture. Understanding these necessities will help you maintain control of the tone and quality of your music.
Our lessons offer an enriching, well-rounded music education that pairs fundamentals with a strong foundation in music literacy. From sight reading and ear training to music theory and history, our instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and extensive teaching résumés to foster an optimal student experience at The Creative Music Center.

Charlie Mann
Trombone, euphonium, tuba & Piano
Originally from Northport, NY, tubist Charlie Mann has performed around the world, at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Brucknerhaus in Linz, Austria, and the National Performing Arts Center in Beijing.
Jamie Finegan
Trumpet & Piano
Jamie Finegan has been a music educator for over 20 years. He is a composer and multi instrumentalist playing trumpet and piano. He is currently an adjunct professor at Fairfield University.
Mark Dennis
Trumpet
Mark has been a professional trumpet player and music educator for several decades. He has held teaching positions in public and private schools and has taught students ranging in age from kindergarten to college. He has extensive experience as a performer in a variety of ensembles from ranging from small jazz groups

What Is the Minimum Age to Begin Brass Lessons at The Creative Music Center?
When it comes to brass instruments, it’s important to not only have solid reading and comprehension skills to be successful but also have significant lung capacity.
We begin brass lessons for the trumpet, trombone at the age of 7. At this point, we’ve found that students have the necessary skills to acquire the knowledge that will support playing an instrument.
Do I Need Any Prior Experience?
Brass instruments are complicated, but with the right support, anyone can learn to play the trumpet, trombone, french horn, and more. There’s no need to be nervous about getting started or striving for an ambitious goal – we welcome musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels.
What Styles of Music Can I Learn?
The Creative Music Center teachers have such unique experiences to share with our students, there are no limits to the styles of brass music that we can teach.
