Private Lesson Tuition & Terms of Service
TUITION COST:
30 min: Monthly fee of $200, for weekly lessons.
60 min: Monthly fee of $375, for weekly lessons.
PUNCTUALITY: All lessons are scheduled back-to-back. Please arrive on time so you receive the time you’ve paid for. We cannot “go over” for students who arrive late, as this is not fair for the following students. Parents must not drop children off earlier than 10 minutes before their class, and students must be picked up immediately following their class as we do not provide childcare and we cannot be responsible for overseeing students outside of class. If you arrive early or while another lesson is finishing, please come in and sit quietly in the waiting area. Your teacher will open the door when it is time for your lesson.
TUITION: The full month’s tuition is due at the first class of each month and is automatically billed on the 1st of each month. By enrolling, I agree to be automatically charged for classes. You may not deduct for lessons that you expect to miss. A late charge of $10.00 must be included for tuition received after the second class of each month. Bills will be sent only if tuition has not been paid by the end of the month. A $25.00 fee is charged for all returned checks. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN ON TUITION.
A $24 per student/$36 per family non-refundable, annual registration fee is due at the time of registration. This fee will be pro-rated according to the month you start. After that, the fee will be due the first week of January of every year.
MISSED CLASSES: We allow a total of 2 make-up credits per quarter, as long as 24 hour notice is given. Students must notify of a lesson cancellation a minimum of 24 hours prior to lesson time. If 24 hours notice is given, then a make-up credit will be applied. If less than 24 hours notice is given, no make-up or refund will be given. Any missed lessons which are not made-up by the end of the month may still be made-up the following month, however they cannot be used as discounts towards your next month’s bill. Please remember it is your responsibility to call and re-schedule missed lessons. You have 1 year to use a makeup credit after it is given.
If students no-show with no communication for three consecutive weeks, they will be withdrawn from lessons and will forfeit any remaining classes and makeups linked to their subscription.
Make up lessons cannot be redeemed for monetary value or used to substitute tuition.
TEACHER ABSENCES: In the event that your teacher is absent we will do our best to provide another instructor to teach your lesson at your usual time. You will only be notified if a substitute teacher is not available. If you opt out of taking the lesson with the substitute instructor, no credit or refund will be issued. If we do not have another instructor to teach you at your usual time, you will be notified and given the option to either re-schedule the class or take a credit.
WITHDRAWAL: If you wish to withdraw from lessons, families must give Reeder Music Academy 30 days written notice. The withdrawal form can be found in-person at the front desk, or emailed directly upon request. The full tuition amount must be paid through the 30 day period.
SUMMER SCHEDULE: During Summer Break students may skip a total of 2 weeks of lessons without being billed, but all other missed lessons must be paid for and made-up. We find the summer months to be very easy to schedule make-ups, since children are out of school. When possible students may schedule 2 lessons a week for the purpose of make-ups.
SCHOOL CLOSURES: Reeder Music Academy will be closed for major holidays and breaks. No make ups or refunds will be given for our scheduled school closures as their price is factored into our 48 week flat rate calendar. In 48 weeks, you will receive 48 lessons unless individual lessons are cancelled. Because you receive 48 lessons within 48 weeks, we offer a flat rate tuition every month. That way, you won’t be charged higher tuition on months that have more days. If you have questions about our 48 week calendar, please contact us.
PARENT ETIQUETTE: Disruption of classes by parents, siblings, or others, will not be tolerated. Sitting in the classroom with your child during their lesson is not permitted. In some cases with very young students (4-5 years old) the instructor may request that a parent observe the lesson for the first few weeks. If parents and siblings wish to remain at the academy during the lesson, they may wait in the lobby. Siblings must be monitored by parents and must not be a disturbance in the classroom or the waiting area. Students and siblings must not be left at the studio without parental supervision. We do not tolerate mistreatment of teachers in any way. If it is found that a student or teacher has mistreated a member of Reeder staff, we will remove the student from the schedule.
MEDIA RELEASE: From time to time, students may be highlighted in efforts to promote Reeder Music Academy activities and achievements. Students may be featured in materials such as newspapers, radio, TV, the web, DVDs, displays, and brochures. By enrolling in lessons, I give Reeder Music Academy permission to use my (or my child’s) likeness in audio, video, film, and digital/printed media. I further release and relieve Reeder Music Academy from any liabilities, known or unknown, arising out of the use of this material.
CODE OF CONDUCT: At Reeder Music Academy, we have high standards as to how our students, parents or guardians of students, and staff conduct themselves. We expect that everyone within our school treats each other with the highest level of respect, clear communication, and kindness as possible. People of all backgrounds and life experience are accepted at Reeder.
