Modern Music Academy provides positive, memorable opportunities for students of all skill levels to explore their interest in music through a rewarding progression of discovery.
Piano
The piano is both approachable for young beginners and richly complex for advanced players, and is perfect for learning to read music and building a strong musical foundation.
Guitar, Bass, & Ukulele
One of the foundational instruments of contemporary music, our guitar instructors teach across genres and will equip you to play for yourself or as part of a group.
Voice
The vocal instrument is a complex living system and healthy technique is the key to lifelong enjoyment. Study musical theater, pop music, opera, or anything that interests you.
Drums
The drum kit is an energetic instrument that cultivates precise rhythm and strong music fundamentals. Learn to create fun and complex beats while developing healthy technique.
Cello
Cello lessons will help you to develop strong fundamentals and play without tension to create a clear and beautiful sound on this soulful instrument.
Woodwinds
Develop a beautiful sound on the saxophone, clarinet, oboe or flute. Study the musical style of your choosing with our highly qualified woodwind instructors.
Brass
Learn how to play the trumpet, cornet, tuba, trombone and more. Private brass lessons are a great supplement to school music programs. Study your favorite genre with your teacher.
Music Production
The Modern Music Academy offers recording and production lessons in its in-house, state-of-the-art recording studio!
Violin
Learn the fundamentals of this wonderful instrument and everything you’ll need to perform solo or with an orchestra
How to book a trial?
Book Trial Now!Can I try a lesson before I commit?
Yes! We encourage new students to book a trial or demo lesson firstfirst socan meet a teacher, set goals, and experience our teaching style. Use our enrollment portal to select a $20 demo lesson with us!
How can I book a trial lesson?
To begin, click on “TRIAL” link in the top bar or the button on the left. This will take you to our secure lessons portal.
From there, you’ll be guided through selecting your instrument, preferred teacher, and your scheduling options
What happens after I book?
1. You’ll receive a confirmation and invoice via the Opus1 portal.
2. Your lessons will be scheduled at the time slot you selected.
3. You can manage your lessons: cancel, reschedule, or make-up missed lessons using your student portal.
What if I don’t see the lesson time or lesson type I need?
We encourage you to let us know via E-mail or Phone! Often, we might be aware of upcoming availability with existing and new staff and can stay in touch to offer you a lesson trial!

We welcome all beginners and all higher levels of experience – no matter your age (adults included). We offer music lessons in piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, drums, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, saxophone, flute, oboe, trumpet, tuba, and trombone.
Most Qualified and Diverse Teaching Faculty
We attract the best teachers in the area because they want to teach at The Modern Music Academy. Our instructors have gone through a rigorous process in order to work at The Modern Music Academy. To be one of our teachers, you have to be caring, patient, talented, and a true team player. All of our instructors are experts on their instruments and either hold, or are pursuing, degrees in music and all have had prior experience teaching music.
In-House Recording Studio
We are one of the few music schools in the country to have a state of the art recording studio. Our recording engineers have also been carefully selected and trained to use all of our gear and software to the highest level. ALL of our engineers have degrees in audio engineering.
Pop & Rock Bands
Each one of our legendary student bands is made up of students of the same age, skill level, and musical inclinations, ensuring that every student can reach their full rockstar potential. We hold multiple performances per year at incredible local venues like Ringside Tavern, Just Jake’s, Dingbatz, and even the Prudential Center!
Beautiful Facility, and State-Of-The-Art Lesson Rooms
Our lesson rooms were all custom built with making music in mind. Each room was tuned and made for making music. All of our rooms are equipped with the proper instruments and tools for success!
Waiting Rooms Available Local Shopping and Local Coffee Shop
We have comfortable waiting areas for our families with free WIFI, and magazines. Across the street is Food Town, tons of boutique stores and one block away, our favorite coffee shop, Rockin Joes!
Flexible Scheduling and Makeup Options 6 Days a Week
We have many weekday afternoon and evenings and Saturday morning lesson times, and we’re open all year round, including the summer. If you need to cancel your lesson or change your lesson time, no problem! Our busy families love our convenient unlimited makeup lesson and schedule change policy.
Month to Month Lesson Structure
No long term quarterly or annual commitments. Students are only committed to a month at time.
