All Modern Music Academy voice teachers are classically trained and have an in-depth understanding of how the vocal cords work. Our students are taught proper warm-up and breathing techniques to help maximize range, vocal stability, and much more.
Every voice lesson is not created equal. Each lesson is tailored to the specific student’s interests and ability level. Whether you or your child want to learn how to successfully sing a song from your favorite soundtrack or something popular on the radio, we’ll help get you there!

Finding your own voice is one of life’s great pleasures – and learning how to use it makes that feeling even sweeter! At Modern Music Academy, we want every student to LOVE their music lessons and find fulfillment in learning how to sing.
02 We Emphasize Healthy Technique
Modern Music Academy highly-trained instructors will assist you in learning strong fundamentals including proper breathing, diction, resonance, stage presence, and non-verbal expression. We strive to ensure that our voice students become literate musicians, so lessons will also include discussions of music theory, history, and rhythm. Mastering these technical basics will broaden your horizons and allow you to explore many different styles and genres of music in the future!
03 We Care About Your Musical Interests & Goals
We teach all styles of singing, including musical theatre, classical, contemporary/pop, jazz, country, and folk. Your voice is unique – and therefore, your instruction should be, too. Whether you are a beginner, have some experience, or are an accomplished performer with a desire to further develop your skills, our teachers will provide customized guidance designed to advance your individual goals.

What Is a Good Age to Start Voice Lessons?
The minimum age we recommend a student start voice lessons is 7 years old. Many parents want their child to start much younger, but a voice lesson that focuses strictly on technique can be very challenging on younger vocal cords that have not yet developed. We are happy to help you learn more and determine if your child is ready!
Teens and adults are welcome and may also want to include voice lessons with another instrument they are learning.

Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favorite recording artists, preparing for a theatre audition, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice. You will discover our voice teachers are fun and patient when you take voice lessons at Modern Music Academy.
