Foxes School of Music has been a staple of the Washington, DC area music community for over 70 years! We started as a music and dance school in 1953, and continue to provide excellent private music lessons to students ages 7+. Our instructors are top-tier musicians and educators who enjoy teaching with a passion.

Program Overview

Music Lessons in a Nurturing & Family-Friendly Environment

All lessons are private and held with the same instructor on an ongoing, weekly basis during your designated timeslot. In-person lessons take place here in our store studios. There are no set semesters, enrollment is open year-round, and you may terminate at any time with two weeks’ notice. Students are allowed four excused absences per calendar year, which may be made up or credited. Any absences beyond four per year, as well as late cancellations and no-shows, are billed and considered forfeited. The Studio Administrator manages our program, including all scheduling and billing.

Our instructors are accomplished musicians who bring both artistry and teaching expertise to every lesson. They’re invested in your growth, not just as a player, but as someone who genuinely loves music. Many of our adult students are amazed at how quickly they progress, even without any prior musical background. What matters most isn’t where you’re starting from, it’s that you’re genuinely interested and willing to dedicate even 15-20 minutes a day to practice.
