Welcome to The Music Shop Studios, the most inclusive and complete music school in Morris County, featuring our lesson center and group classes. We offer everything a beginner or advanced musician can require in one place.
Music Lessons
Piano

Guitar & Ukulele
One of the foundational instruments of contemporary music, our guitar instructors teach across genres and will equip you to play for yourself or as part of a group.

Violin & Viola
Whether you want to learn the classics or contemporary pieces, our instructors will help you master the technique needed to excel at these captivating instruments.
Drums
The drum kit is an energetic instrument that cultivates precise rhythm and strong music fundamentals. Learn to create fun and complex beats while developing healthy technique.
Bass
The low pitch of the bass guitar holds down the groove in almost all styles of music. Learn to play different styles and techniques.
Cello
Cello lessons will help you to develop strong fundamentals and play without tension to create a clear and beautiful sound on this soulful instrument.
Woodwind
Develop a beautiful sound on the saxophone, clarinet, oboe or flute. Study the musical style of your choosing with our highly qualified woodwind instructors.
Brass
Learn how to play the trumpet, cornet, tuba, trombone and more. Private brass lessons are a great supplement to school music programs. Study your favorite genre with your teacher.
Allegro Strings
Allegro Strings at The Music Shop gives young musicians ensemble experience on violin, viola, cello, and bass, building confidence, rhythm, and performance skills all year.
Ensembles
Join string, symphony, rock band, and chamber ensembles. Small groups for all ages build confidence, rhythm, and performance skills with supportive, experienced coaches.
Music Production
Learn beat making, mixing, mastering, and DJ skills with Pro Tools or GarageBand, online or in-studio.

DO YOU HAVE GROUPS/ENSEMBLES?
One of the most unique aspects of The Music Shop Academy is our in-house ensembles. We have beginning Suzuki violin classes (4-9 year olds), string orchestras in 3 levels, an adult symphony, rock band, and group guitar classes.
WHAT IS YOUR FACILITY/WAITING AREA LIKE?
The Music Shop Academy has 15 lesson studios fully equipped with the newest technology, soundproofing and grand pianos or keyboards. All our studios have glass doors or cameras for parents to view. We also have leather couches, café tables and free WiFi!
WHAT TIMES DO YOU OFFER LESSONS?
Lessons are taught Monday through Saturday from 9:00am-9:00pm. We can even schedule more than one lesson at the same time for siblings studying different instruments.
DO YOU HOLD ANY PERFORMANCES?
Music is made to be shared and there is no better feeling than taking a bow for a well-deserved performance. Whether you are playing at a formal recital or just sharing a favorite piece in our coffee shop, all musicians love applause! We also participate in community outreach and benefit concerts.
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE AN INSTRUMENT?
The Music Shop can provide quality instruments for the beginner or advanced student and a repair shop to help maintain your instrument. The Music Shop rents instruments to schools throughout NJ at the most competitive rates. The store will also supply all lesson materials and accessories for your instrument.
HOW CAN YOU ENCOURAGE MY CHILD TO PRACTICE?
We encourage our students with a ladder of accomplishments signified with an arm band and certificate, as well as regular performance opportunities and open mic nights in our coffee shop.
HOW DO I REFER A FRIEND?
If you already take lessons with us, complete our Refer-A-Friend Form. With each referral that enrolls, YOU receive a $25 Credit toward your next lesson! You can refer as many people as you like!
