About Mojgan M.

Mojgan is a violinist, composer, and educator based in Austin. She holds a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of Houston. While completing her graduate studies, she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UT Austin, working closely with undergraduate music students in both classroom and studio settings.

Mojgan has over a decade of teaching experience, offering violin, viola, and composition instruction to students of all ages and levels in both private and academic environments. Her lessons emphasize strong technical foundations while encouraging creativity through listening, improvisation, and musical exploration tailored to each student’s interests. She believes in supporting each student’s unique goals and musical identity in a structured yet flexible learning environment.

As a performer, Mojgan has played in symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, and world music groups. She currently works as a freelance composer and performer, regularly receiving commissions from soloists and ensembles. Her compositions have been performed nationally and internationally, including premieres by the Seattle Symphony and features at the Cohen New Works Festival, and the College Music Society. Besides teaching and composing, Mojgan works as a recording technician at the Butler School of Music, where she enjoys supporting live concerts and being part of the behind-the-scenes process that brings performances to life
