About Frederick Jackson
Frederick Jackson is a classically trained pianist originally from Rochester, NY. From a young age, Frederick was surrounded by music through his family and church and being exposed to a wide range of musical genres. Some of his favorites include Classical, Jazz, Gospel, musical theater, and others. He began to discover his passion for music as a teenager by taking piano lessons with Ms. Gloria Brooks in his hometown. While studying, he advanced his skills rapidly and went on to study with Yang Chanyeong and Dazhong Zhu. He currently studies with Professor Gregory Allen at the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance.
Frederick has performed as a soloist, accompanist and enjoys performing chamber and choral music. Frederick gained a wide array of performance experience at the Eastman and Butler Schools of music as well as churches, competitions, festivals, and recitals in Texas and the Northeast since 2017.
He is passionate about helping his students achieve their musical goals while also allowing them to enjoy the process of learning what it means to be a musician. Having worked with students of all ages, he is able to teach no matter which point in their musical development a student starts with. He tailors his lessons to each student’s interests and needs while also instilling a deep understanding and appreciation for the music they study. He is described as understanding, knowledgeable, encouraging, and inspiring by those he has worked with. He strives to make a positive, long-lasting difference in people’s lives through his passion for music.
