What’s a good age to begin violin or viola lessons?
Children can begin studying violin as young as ages 4 or 5, but we welcome students of all ages, including adults!
Even so, not all 5-year-olds are ready to begin violin lessons. Whether your child is ready for lessons depends on a variety of factors including physical development, dexterity, and attention span. If you’re not sure, we are happy to consult with you and help determine if your child is ready to start.
While children make up a good percentage of our student roster, we also love to work with adults. There is no such thing as being too old to learn an instrument!
