Tuition Policy

Tuition Overview

Our calendar year is 48 weeks and our lesson tuition is a convenient flat monthly fee. We offer prorated tuition based on the actual number of lessons available during a student’s first month only; all other months are billed at the flat rate regardless of the number of lessons in the month. All planned closings are factored into our monthly tuition (example: we do not charge extra during months with 5 lessons; we do not prorate months with 3 lessons).

Tuition Payment

Tuition is paid by automatic credit card payment and is due on the first of each month. We accept all major credit cards. There are no refunds for tuition after it has been paid on the 1st of the month.

Process to End Lessons

In order to end lessons, we must receive notice, either verbally or in writing, by 8:00pm on the 15th of the month you wish to stop (example: if you want January to be your last month of lessons, you must let us know by January 15th). If we receive notification after the current month’s deadline, your lessons will be set to stop at the end of the next month (example: if we receive notice on January 16th, your lessons will be set to stop at the end of February).

There is no additional fee to cancel your lesson plan. Teachers cannot accept withdrawal notification – you must speak to the office manager or email the studio.

Make-up Lessons Policy

There are no credits or refunds for missed lessons. For private students, one make-up lesson is allowed per quarter. These lessons do not roll over and must be made up by the end of the quarter in which they were canceled. There are 4 quarters per year: January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December.

Make-up lessons are not guaranteed. The make-up lesson is only scheduled during your teacher’s open times, and will not be scheduled if your teacher does not have an opening in their schedule.

We will not reschedule day-of cancellations – in order to schedule a make-up, you must let us know the day prior to your scheduled lesson, or earlier if possible.

If you are unable to make your regular lesson on short notice, we always offer alternative lesson options!

Here is what we offer:

Virtual Lesson Option: All of our teachers are equipped to teach virtual lessons. If you are unable to bring your child to their lesson, simply let the front desk know as soon as possible and we can arrange a virtual lesson. Virtual lessons must occur during your regular lesson time with your scheduled teacher.

Asynchronous Lesson Option: You may submit a video or recording before 2pm the day of your lesson. Your teacher will use your lesson time to listen to it and send you back some helpful information so you can continue to practice. Ask the front desk for the link to the Google folder to submit your recording.

Gifted Lesson Option: You may gift your missed lesson to a family member or friend. The lesson needs to be with your teacher and has to take place during your lesson time.

Summer Vacation

We are open year round – we do not close for the summer! If you are taking time off for summer and want to have the same lesson time when you return, you should continue to make your monthly tuition payment to hold your lesson time.

If you withdraw from lessons at any time, you will lose your lesson time. When you re-enroll, we will do our best to get you back with the same teacher, but this is not guaranteed – you may have to switch teachers, days or times depending on what is available. You can re-enroll by contacting the front desk either by phone or email. Your teacher cannot re-enroll you or guarantee they will still have a lesson time for you if you take an extended leave of absence.

Inclement Weather

If we need to close due to inclement weather or hazardous road conditions, all lessons will be virtual that day. If you decline a virtual lesson, we cannot guarantee an in-person make-up lesson.

In the case of power outages at your home, we will do our best to reschedule the lesson either with your teacher or a substitute. Due to the high volume of make-up lessons, it may not be possible for your teacher to make-up this lesson – if you decline a lesson with a substitute, then the lesson will be forfeited.

Teacher Cancellation

Lessons canceled by the teacher will always be promptly made up or taught by a substitute. If you decline a lesson with a substitute, the lesson will be forfeited. Group classes will not have make-up lessons.
