About Steven Vonderohe
Steven Vonderohe is a musician, educator, and composer in the southwest suburbs of Chicago who is devoted to sharing and advancing the art of percussion and music. Since receiving his Bachelor’s degree in music education from VanderCook College of Music, he has been actively teaching at a variety of schools as a private instructor, percussion ensemble teacher, marching band instructor and clinician. Recently, he has been a private instructor and percussion arranger for Romeoville High School, percussion ensemble instructor at Lockport Township Highschool, and finished his first season as Ensemble Director for the independent percussion ensemble, Pi Percussion.
As a performer, he has played with orchestras, chamber ensembles, jazz combos, pop/rock bands, drum lines, choirs, and musical productions and is able to approach each situation with a high level of professionalism and passion. Steven is also a seasoned performer in the Drum Corps activity, where he spent six seasons playing marimba with the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps. Currently, Steven is working on some compositions of his own, as well as collaborating as a drummer, pianist, and producer for some other local musicians.
