About Melinda S.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Mindy S. has found her home in the Chicago area. Mindy has studied piano from age 5, and received her Bachelor’s in Piano Performance from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH, and her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Brandon University in Brandon, MB, Canada. She has had many performance opportunities which include performing in the Dark Music Days New Music Festival in Reykjavik Iceland with the Brandon University New Music Ensemble, and music director/pianist at the Manitoban Premiere of “Emily, The Way You Are” a one-woman opera celebrating the life and works of Iconic Canadian painter Emily Carr. Currently, Mindy enjoys making music with cellist David Forsman. She is also the Orchestra Manager for The Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra. Mindy’s passion for teaching has led her to find a home within The Music Connection, and hopes to inspire young artists and help them achieve their musical goals.
