About Jenny Giocomo
Jenny is a professional singer whose career has taken her around the world. She started as a youngster in the choir at Our Redeemer Church in Prospect Heights, Illinois. Voice lessons with her church choir director Henry Elling led to a tour of Europe at age 16 as a guest member and soloist for Chicago’s Luther High School North chorale.
A family move to California landed her at The Bird Cage Theatre at Knott’s Berry Farm, performing as an actress and singer for eight seasons. While in California, Ms. Giocomo studied with Richard Raub at Orange Coast College and with the renowned Dr. Michael Sells at The University of Southern California. She spent a year in Jalapa, Mexico as an artist in residence and member of Las Madrigalistas for La Universidad Veracruzana.
Her singing career continued with a year at Sebastian’s Playhouse in San Clemente and two years in Hello, Hollywood, Hello! at The MGM Reno where she was a singer and principal understudy. Fifteen years in Colorado had Jenny doing musicals, commercials, and teaching voice both privately and at Colorado State University, where she also studied with her mentor Dr. John Lueck.
A move back to the Chicago area brought Jenny to Theatre at the Centre in Indiana, where she had leads in more than a dozen musicals. In Las Vegas, Jenny performed as a strolling singer at the Venetian Hotel and starred in Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus at the Flamingo Hotel, all while teaching voice from her home studio.
Jenny is very pleased to be back in Illinois and to be part of the Music Connection here in Orland Park!
