About Grayson Boatwright
Grayson Boatwright was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. Music has been a very important part of his life ever since he was a young kid and fell in love with the guitar. Boatwright’s earliest inspirations included guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton. While his interests within music were constantly changing as a teenager, he eventually was struck in such a profound way by Jazz and Improvised Music. Upon the first time hearing the “fiery” bebop language of Jazz and the unapologetic “swing” of this music, his life was forever changed. Boatwright has performed in cities across the country such as Charlotte, Washington, New Orleans, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Chicago as well as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz a Vienne, and Umbria Jazz Festivals in Europe. Grayson studies at Northern Illinois University while teaching at The Music Connection.
