About Elena K.

Elena K. studied vocal performance at the College and Conservatory in her native city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She completed her training in two prestigious artist development opera programs – the Houston Grand Opera Studio and the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists (Ryan Opera Center).

Her professional experience includes engagements with the Houston Grand Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, New York City Opera, Opera Omaha, and Minnesota Orchestra.

Elena is also a winner of several voice competitions, including the Sullivan Foundation grant, First Prizes in the Opera Columbus Vocal Competition, and the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation International Voice Competition.

She also holds a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and for the past eight years worked at the VanderCook College of Music as a music librarian. During her time at VanderCook Elena mentored and coached vocal students.
