
About Diego Zapata
Diego Zapata is a Venezuelan violinist who began his studies at the age of 5 in the Venezuelan program known as “El Sistema”. At 10 years of age, he began musical studies at the Simon Bolivar Conservatory for three years after entering the Latin American Academy of Violin, as well as in the Mozarteum School of Music in Caracas. He was part of the Children’s Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, where he had the honor of being conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and the former conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Simon Rattle. His academic accomplishments include a bachelor’s degree from Bogotá, an artist diploma from Vienna, and a master’s degree from Kansas. As a chamber music performer, Diego was a member of the prestigious Saint Petersburg String Quartet from 2018 to 2020.
