About Diego Zapata
Diego Zapata teaches violin and viola. He is a professional violinist with years of experience in teaching and performing. Diego began his studies at the age of five in the “El Sistema” Venezuelan music program. He studied music at the Simon Bolivar Conservatory, the Latin American Academy of Violin, as well as in the Mozarteum School of Music in Caracas. Diego was a member of the Children’s Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, where he had the honor of being conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and the former conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Sir Simon Rattle. Diego was also a member of the prestigious Saint Petersburg String Quartet for two years. Diego’s academic accomplishments include a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bogotá, an Artist Diploma from Vienna, and a Master’s degree from Kansas.
