About Carl Johnston
Carl Johnston teaches violin and viola. He has more than four decades of experience teaching and performing. Carl has both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from the Chicago Musical College at Roosevelt University. Carl has taught music at numerous Chicagoland schools including the University of Chicago Laboratory School. Carl has been Concertmaster and associate Concertmaster of numerous orchestras including Mozart Sinfonia and the Illinois Philharmonic. He has been a member of numerous Symphony Orchestras and a soloist with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, China and Korea. In the “pop world” Carl has shared the stage with dozens of musical legends including Donna Summer, Dionne Warwick, John Denver, Olivia Newton-John, Donny Osmond, Wynonna Judd, Barry Manilow and Clay Aiken.
