About Jeff Decker
Jeff believes the vast amount of experience he has makes him a better teacher. He has written three of his own method books which he uses in teaching. His philosophy concerning teaching is that everybody learns at their own pace and you need to be patient. Through a series of small successes, we can slowly get students to learn to play and enjoy music. Everyone should play an instrument to some degree. Music makes people better students, better citizens, etc.
First piece of music that had a profound effect on me: Ballet for a Girl from Bucchanan by Chicago
Music teacher who inspired me the most: Tony Caselli. One of my drum teachers and a great mentor. Taught me about the business side of the music business as well as the music side.
How I am making the world a better place: I am helping to pass along the gift of music to younger generations.
Favorite quote about music: “Music is life.”
