About Janet Cramer
Janet Cramer is an accomplished drummer and instructor with more than twenty-five years of experience. She obtained her Masters in Music degree from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, before relocating to Chicago. Ms Cramer has made a significant contribution to various genres and music scenes in Chicago, including Blues, Rock, Jazz, Latin Jazz, Americana, and Music Theatre as a performer.
Ms Cramer is currently an adjunct instructor at Harper College teaching applied lessons in drum set and percussion. As a clinician, she is a member of the percussion ensemble, Rhythm Unity, performing lecture/demonstrations on drums and rhythms from around the world.
In addition to her institutional work, Ms Cramer has extensive experience as a private drum instructor for students of all ages. Her teaching philosophy, whether in a classroom or an individual setting, centers on providing students with essential knowledge while also allowing them to develop their skills and creating a mutually beneficial learning experience.
