
About Brad Schlueter
Brad Schlueter is a professional drummer and plays regularly with several Corporate Event/Wedding bands, Jazz groups, high-energy Party Rock bands, Live Karaoke bands and Praise and Worship bands.
Brad has taught private drum lessons since graduating from Northern Illinois University. He is a supportive, patient and motivating teacher. His teaching focuses on having fun while developing the musical skills necessary to perform at a high level whether in a school band or as a professional drummer. Many of his students have gone on to be successful professional drummers including Kris Meyers (Umphrees McGee), Demar Hamilton (The Plain White T’s), Kevin Clarke (School Of Rock movie), Billy Shaffer (The Million Dollar Quartet, Ring Of Fire), Joe Babiak (Kill Hannah, guitarist Michael Angelo) and many others.
Brad has also been a music writer for various music magazines and websites for over a decade. He writes feature articles, product reviews and transcriptions every month for Drum! Magazine and also produces videos for their website – www.drummagazine.com. He has also written professionally for Modern Drummer, Electronic Musician, Drumhead, Traps, How To Play Drums and JazzTimes magazines and recently began writing all the drum and educational pieces for www.Reverb.com.
In 2012 he transcribed and co-authored the Hudson Music/Hal Leonard book Todd Sucherman: Method and Mechanics which received many 5-Star reviews from around the world. He was honored that it was also nominated for both a Drum! Magazine Drummie Award and a Modern Drummer Reader’s Choice selection as the best educational book of the year.
