First Responder’s Challenge

The First Responders Family Fest is in less than two weeks, and anticipation is growing every day. This family-friendly fest in Palatine’s Deer Grove East Forest Preserve truly has something for everyone!

During the entire event, Showcase Vendors will be providing product and service demonstrations, in addition to a number of giveaways! Showcase Vendors will include:

Durty Nellie’s, The Bridge Youth and Family Services, Midtown Athletic Club, Foss Swim School, Ignite Hope, Trinity Irish Dancers, Younique, Stella & Dot, PHD-Society for the Preservation of Human Dignity, North West Housing Partnership, City Limits Harley Davidson, Homes for Heroes, A Closer Bond, Costco, The Music Room, Mathnasium Palatine, Christopher Paul Photography, PalmLeaf Massage and Castle Chiropractic.

The day’s events off with a Youth 1-Mile Run at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 5K Fun Run/Walk beginning at 9 a.m.

The First Responders Obstacle Course Challenge begins at 11 a.m. Area first responders, including police and firefighters, EMT’s and others called to serve and protect…..as well as members from the general public will be competing for cash prizes to donate to their charity of choice, along with trophies and bragging rights! Teams can still register to compete, here.

After the winners are declared, a Tug-Of-War will commence including event attendees, as well as a FREE Water Balloon Toss/Fight which will cap off the day! Pre-registration is strongly encouraged for all of the day’s events, and can be done here.

Event registration for the 1-Mile and 5K begins opens at 7:30 a.m.
