With over 12 years of experience as a musician, Sean started his guitar training young. He shares, “I fell in love with guitar, and music in general, the first time I performed.” During his collegiate training at University of Louisiana, Sean studied under the musical direction of Dr. Jeff George at the University of Louisiana with a focus in Music Theory, Composition, and Classical Guitar.
Over the last several years, Sean’s musicianship has earned him numerous awards and tuition scholarships from New Orleans’ Friends of Music. In 2013, Sean won 1st place in the affiliated classical guitar competition. The organization brings music to the youth of the city, and cultivates the appreciation of classical music. In 2014, Stonebridge Guitars discovered Sean’s musical skills on Instagram, and provided him a cross promotion opportunity with their brand. As a professional musician, Sean plays acoustic guitar in the local indie rock bank, Thelma & Theodore and has recorded an EP with Paul Broussard at Leap Studios. Sean’s classical repertoire has landed him many opportunities to play in local weddings. He, as an instrumental artist, is working on his first album, which will feature original finger style guitar arrangements infusing styles of funk, rock, pop, blues, classical, and jazz. He enjoys playing at local venues when he’s not in the classroom or in the studio.
In the classroom, he focuses on connecting his students to their repertoire, while teaching them the theoretical and technical elements of the guitar. His goal is to keep the learning process fun while providing his students the skills to play the music that they love.
