About Jamie
Jamie is a passionate teacher with over 8 years of experience sharing their knowledge of music with students of all ages, skill levels, and musical backgrounds. They have been playing with the R&B Blues Ensemble at UL-Lafayette for the last 4 years as their pianist, and is also currently the pianist in the St. Alphonse quartet in Maurice.
Their love for the piano started when they were 13 years old, and over the years they’ve developed a deep love for Blues and R&B which has shaped their unique teaching style and approach to music.
Jamie believes that music should be expressive, gratifying, and personal. Jamie tailors each lesson to the student’s goals, whether that’s mastering certain techniques, learning how to improvise solos, or playing a favorite tune by ear. Jamie hopes to build a strong foundation in music theory, technique, and creativity with their students.
