About Ezra
Ezra is from Alexandria, Louisiana, and has recently moved to Lafayette to pursue his master’s degree in music with a concentration in Instrumental Conducting from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He started getting involved in music at a very young age when he started learning the piano at the age of 5 and the trombone when he was 11. From 2015 to 2020, he studied under Mr. Ernie Bott. In 2021, Ezra continued his study in trombone performance with Mr. Bill Christophe.
Ezra graduated from Louisiana Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Throughout his music career, he has studied many instruments including Trombone, Piano, Euphonium, French Horn, Tuba, Trumpet, Strings, Percussion, and Drums. During his time in university, he has been in many ensembles including jazz bands, marching bands, concert bands, orchestras, and pit bands. Due to his involvement in all of these ensembles, he was given many awards and scholarships by the university.
During his time at LCU, Ezra had the opportunity to be a brass instructor for Pineville High School and Alexandria Senior High where he learned many ways to help young musicians grow.
Ezra believes that a good learning environment for the student is the key to the enrichment of the student. He loves to give encouragement and hope to all young musicians, and hopes that his students are able to use music as an outlet for creativity and individuality.
