About Makayla
Makayla is a pianist and musician from Southern California. She is a graduate from California Baptist University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in piano, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She started playing the piano at the age of 5 and developed a deep love and appreciation for music throughout high school. She completed level 10 of Certificate of Merit while earning Branch Honors for multiple years, and participated in several festivals hosted by the Music Teachers’ Association of California. She enjoys performing in fundraisers for her community and serving on her worship team. She has experience performing in various choirs, as well as working as a collaborative pianist alongside vocalists and instrumentalists.
Makayla has a passion for sharing the love and gift of music with the next generation. She has over 5 years of teaching experience in both piano and voice, and enjoys coaching young children as well as adult students. She strives to create a fun, safe environment for students to develop a lifelong love for music along with strong musical technique. She recognizes that each student has individual goals and passions, and she is dedicated to helping each student grow not just in their musical skills, but also in personal skills that they will be able to use in their daily lives.
In her free time, she loves spending time with her loved ones. You can find her at the beach, watching the sunset, or going on a hike!
