Citlali is a classically trained vocalist, opera singer, songwriter, and choral conductor from Los Angeles County, who graduated from UC Irvine with a BM in Vocal Performance. She first found her love for music through playing the flute in middle school, but grew up believing that very few people could sing- and that she wasn’t one of them. It wasn’t until she joined choir on a whim at 16, that she developed a huge passion for vocal music. After joining her school’s show choir and musical theatre productions, she realized that all she wanted to do was sing.
She went on to study classical voice at UCI, and sang in 4 opera productions, chamber ensembles, and studied choral conducting. Recently, Citlali was able to perform in a young artists program in Germany. She also grew her pop-technique alongside her opera studies in a competitive acapella group.
Citlali hopes to change the narrative about there being a “right time” to discover a passion, and is a firm believer that anyone can sing. She also hopes for her students to grow a healthy and versatile vocal technique across musical genres, and to share her boundless excitement for learning.
