About Alva
Alva is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and vocal director whose voice has shaped worship
culture and community for over two decades. Known for her soul, precision, and leadership,
she’s spent her life building spaces where music becomes more than sound, it becomes family.
At Saddlesback Church, Alva didn’t just sing, she built. As co-lead with Rick Muchow and Time
Das, she founded and grew praise, a gospel worship venue that became a creative and spiritual
home for hundreds of singers and musicians. Her leadership turned a single service into a
thriving ecosystem, a safe, electrifying space where people found belonging, healing, and a
voice.
She co-wrote and performed “Reach One More For Jesus” for the purpose driven life tour,
performed at the National Mall, and shared stages with icons like Dionne Warwick, Yolanda
Adams, Juan Gabriel, Kenny Loggins, Richard Marx, Tony Guerrero, and more.
Through her company Cancope Publishing and her album Always There, Alva continues to
shape the sound of gospel and jazz while mentoring the next generation of vocalists. Her legacy
isn’t just in songs, it;s in the communities built, lives lifted, and voices raised.
