About Marina Nuñez

American soprano Marina Renée Nuñez has been praised for her expressiveness, “rich and warm color,” and sparkling high notes. Recently, she joined St. Petersburg Opera as a Resident Artist, covering Countess Charlotte (A Little Night Music), performing Musetta (La Bohème) in scenes, and appearing in various concerts throughout the season. She has performed the role of Elle in Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine in multiple productions across New York and the Tampa Bay area, including a film adaptation with Tirgan Records and Killer Queen Opera. In 2022, Ms. Nuñez made her Prague debut at the historic Divadlo Vinohradech, performing excerpts from Thaïs with Opernfest Prague.

A versatile performer, she has appeared in roles such as Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), Mimì and Musetta (La Bohème), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Manon (Manon), and the Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro). She made her cinematic debut as the title role in Poppea and premiered the role of Older Sister in Who Married Star Husbands with Four Corners Ensemble at the Polish Consulate General. Internationally, she has performed throughout the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, and the United States, and continues to perform as featured soloist and ensemble member with the Grammy-nominated Taylor Festival Choir in Charleston, SC.

As an educator, Mrs. Nuñez brings 10 years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages in classical, musical theater, and contemporary styles. Her students have been accepted into elite programs such as the Curtis Institute of Music Summer Program, Brevard Music Center, NYU, Mannes School of Music, University of Florida, Florida State, University of Miami, Tanglewood Institute and some are currently performing on Broadway. Marina integrates her linguistic expertise and artistry into every lesson. Mrs. Nuñez also teaches beginning piano and believes in cultivating artistry through curiosity, discipline, and emotional authenticity, nurturing each student’s unique voice and musical identity. Marina earned her Bachelor of Music degree from University of Michigan and her Master of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music both in Vocal Performance. Other training includes The Bel Canto Institute and Castleton Music Festival.
