About Marguerite

Marguerite (Maggie) started piano lessons when she was 5, but her performance journey began at the age of 7 when she began competitive Irish dancing. She eventually went on to compete as a solo and team dancer at the regional, national, and world championship levels. In the 5th grade, she joined her school’s band program as a flautist and continued playing through her sophomore year of high school. During this time, she also picked up the piccolo, guitar, and percussion instruments as well and became an active member of her school’s theatre and choir programs. In high school, Maggie’s focus shifted almost completely to theatre. In her junior year, she won the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Best Actress Award and was a 2019 National High School Musical Theatre Award (The Jimmy Awards) nominee. After high school, she went on to Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, where she just graduated in April 2024 with her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Maggie has been trained in numerous vocal techniques, including classical, musical Theatre, pop/rock, and jazz, among others. She’s also had the honor of learning underneath mentor Lori L. Sonnenberg (MM, MA, CCC-SLP) about vocal health and wellness, rehabilitative voice and speech work, and voice therapy. Marguerite’s passion for teaching music and voice is rooted in a strong desire to educate young performers on the importance of proper technique in order to ensure their instruments have both strength and longevity. She is delighted to be a member of the Tampa Music School family, sharing her knowledge and passion for music and voice with her wonderful students!
