She was also a violinist of a master class directed by the faculty at Ball State University and Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany. She has played in various concerts and orchestras. Additionally, she has taught students of all ages from 5 to 72 years old for over three decades. Seonyoung is a certified Montessori educator who was a music teacher, a violin instructor and a teacher at the Montessori school of North Hoffman and Barrington Montessori School.
Many of her students are actively participating in their school orchestras. And some of her students have continued to pursue music in college. Seonyoung has taught the violin since 1984, incorporating the Montessori philosophy of independence, observation and self-motivation to her lessons. She is proud to see her students improving their violin skills as they enjoy exploring the instrument.
When she is not working on something musical, Seonyoung likes to spend time working out, going to art museums, and cooking.
