About Oksana Tomashevska
- Education: Specialized Diploma with Distinction (violin performance and pedagogy), Rivne Music Academy (Ukraine); postgraduate study at Rivne Institute of Culture; solo recitals, quartet, trio and chamber ensembles performances, principal 2nd and 1st violin in chamber and symphony orchestras (Ukraine), 1st violin in Harper Symphony orchestra. Also, Paraprofessional Educator Certificate from Harper college.

- Teaching experience: violin instructor at Children’s Music School, State Music Academy (Ukraine), Music Arts School (Highland Park, Il), private studio, Schaumburg Music Academy.
- Oksana enjoys teaching students of different ages, backgrounds, and levels. She believes that respectful relationships between students and herself are necessary for successful learning. Oksana incorporates different materials (scales, exercises for bowing and technique, studies, et cetera) in building each student’s proficiency in handling the instrument. This proficiency is applied to learning and performing pieces from traditional violinists’ repertoire along with popular songs and pieces of different genres (depending on students’ individual goals, needs, and preferences).
