About Nadiya Mandziy
Nadiya has been a piano and music theory teacher for over 30 years. She is an honors graduate from Ternopil Music College and went on to get her Master’s degree from Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts in Ukraine. After graduation, she was a teacher at Kozova Music and Art School for more than 20 years, she was also a Head of the Piano Department. Nadiya prepared many of her students for competition; some of them have gone on to become professional musicians and teachers. She was concertmaster at many competitions, also playing in many solo and duet concerts.
After Nadiya moved to the United States, she continued to teach piano and music theory. Nadiya is a member of the Northwest Suburban Music Teacher Association and Music Teachers National Association. She taught music classes at the Kalyna School of Ukrainian Culture, Bensenville and at the Ukrainian School, Palatine. Nadiya teaches piano lessons at David Alder Music and Arts Center since 2013; many of her students received music awards and gold and silver medals in comprehensive theory and performance exams with NWTMA.
Nadiya loves teaching and sharing her knowledge with her students. Her curriculum includes instruction of piano techniques, music reading, and theory to ensure a solid musical foundation. Nadiya’s students play music in a variety of styles from classical to popular. Her students perform in studio recitals and they participate in festivals and exams sponsored by the Northwest Suburban Music Teacher Association. Students of all ages are welcome to take piano lessons in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
