About Jennifer Thompson
Jennifer Thompson is an accomplished vocalist who has performed many times in the Chicago area. She sang Elgar’s Sea Pictures for the Friends of the Windows concert series at St. James Chapel. In the realm of new music, she gave a dramatic interpretation of the song cycle Mariposa en Arullo by Chicago composer Amy Wurtz. As a member of the Vox3 Collective, she performed the role of the Mask Vendor in the Chicago premier of Nielsen’s Maskarade. Other operatic roles include Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Lady Jane in Patience, Nicolette in Eyes and no Eyes, Duchess in The Gondoliers, Siebel in Faust, Lady Sangazure in The Sorcerer, and Mrs. Gleaton in Susannah. Solo oratorio credits include Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. Additionally, Jennifer teaches private voice lessons to students of all ages.
