About Andrew Jaicks
Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin Andrew Jaicks has lived in the Chicago area since 2013. He earned a Bachelor’s of Music in Composition and a Minor in Piano Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Andrew has studied and is interested in a wide variety of musical genres. He has performed in rock bands, Youth Symphonies, jazz ensembles, choral groups and everything in between. Along with performing and composition, Andrew had the amazing opportunity to intern at the legendary recording studio Rax Trax Recording. Through the internship, he trained in best practices of music recording and equipment. Andrew opened a private piano studio in 2021 and has fallen in love with the process of teaching and is always looking for new and creative ways to explain the simplest of musical ideas.
Andrew’s teaching approach is student led. He knows this music stuff and believes his job is that you know this music stuff too! He believes that the teacher works for the student. If you want to learn all of Lady Gaga’s catalog, bring it on. If you want to learn just music theory, he’s game because he is a big music theory nerd. If the student doesn’t know what they want Andrew can guide them to potential musical interests. With a focus on music fundamentals and genuine passion for all things music, Andrew can help nourish the student’s musical journey.
