Volti gives developing performers a place to grow their skills as singers, actors, and musicians. Each week, students will work with experienced instructors in a performance lab setting that combines vocal technique, character development, musicality, collaboration, and real-world preparation.
Whether students are preparing for school musicals, choir solos, college auditions, community theater, or simply want to become more confident performers, Volti helps them connect healthy vocal technique with expressive, meaningful performance.
What Students Will Experience
Get StartedVocal Technique & Masterclasses
Students will strengthen healthy, reliable singing technique through vocal masterclasses, individual coaching, and guided feedback. Sessions will focus on how breath, alignment, tone, diction, expression, and musical choices work together to create their best possible sound.
Acting, Character & Stage Presence
Students will learn how to bring songs and roles to life through character development, storytelling, physicality, dynamics, and movement for the stage. This work helps singers become more expressive, confident, and connected performers.
Musicianship & Collaborative Performance
Students will explore musicality, phrasing, song shaping, and how to work effectively with a collaborative pianist. They may prepare solo, duet, or small group repertoire while learning how to rehearse, listen, and perform as part of a musical team.
Audition, Career & Recital Preparation
Each semester may include topics such as music theory, music appreciation, resume building, mock auditions, and insight from industry professionals. Students will prepare repertoire throughout the semester and showcase their work in an end-of-semester recital.

Volti students will learn from a team of experienced vocal, theatre, and music professionals who bring complementary expertise to the program. Together, the faculty support students in developing healthy vocal technique, expressive performance skills, stronger musicianship, and greater confidence on stage. Through coaching, collaboration, and performance preparation, students receive well-rounded guidance that helps them grow as singers, actors, and young artists.

Paul Hart Cochran, a vocal coach for both classical and theatre singers. He is passionate
about reinforcing solid, healthy technique through understanding how every aspect of their
performance comes together to make their best possible sound.

Taylor Pike, a local director and singer/actress. She aims to help students explore their
chosen music through the basics of plot, character development, physicality, and
dynamics, breathing life to every role.

Matthew places intentional emphasis on listening and engagement with music of many styles through guided listening, reflection, and discussion, encouraging students to explore their own musical tastes and develop a personal relationship with music

Get StartedWho is Volti for?
Volti is for high school aged students who want to build their skills as performing vocalists.
Does my student need to have prior performance experience?
Prior singing, choir, theatre, or musical theatre experience is helpful, but students do not need to be advanced performers to benefit from the program. Volti is designed for motivated students who want to grow.
What will students work on?
Students will work on vocal technique, performance skills, character development, musicianship, stage movement, audition preparation, and recital repertoire.
Will students perform?
Yes. Students will prepare work throughout the semester and have the opportunity to perform in an end-of-semester recital.
Can students participate if they already take private voice lessons?
Yes, it is even encouraged! Volti can be a strong complement to private lessons, school choir, theatre programs, and musical theatre training.
