About Stefanie Tranchida
Stefanie Tranchida is originally from metro-Detroit, and she recently moved to Minnesota after living in Italy for the last seven years. While abroad she finished her Masters Degree in Music Education at Conservatorio di Musica G. Tartini, with a focus on choral conducting and voice. While there she studied voice under Paoletta Marrocu, and Grammy Award winner Lorenzo Regazzo. Stefanie is a lyrical soprano and has been described as having a rich voice. Stefanie has sung in a variety of choirs including the Michigan State University State Singers, Conservatorio di Musica Coro Academica, and currently sings with the Rochester Symphony Orchestra Chorale. She has performed arias from various operas including L’Eliser d’amore, La figlia del reggimento, Don Giovanni among many others. Stefanie is fluent in Italian, and enjoys singing in her second language. She currently studies under Pat Anderson in Rochester.
Stefanie has been teaching for over eleven years delivering individual lessons, as well as working with elementary through high school students in the classroom. She has her Minnesota teaching certificate in Vocal and Classroom Music, and had her Louisiana Early Childhood Education teaching certificate from 2011 – 2016. Stefanie has a very relaxed teaching style and encourages students to make reflective choices towards their own learning. One of her strengths in education is her ability to build meaningful and motivational relationships with her students. She also does well at scaffolding and arranging new material to allow students to be successful at their current level.
Stefanie currently enjoys teaching for the Rochester Academy of Music and Lyle Public School. Her true passion goes towards her involvement with the Hometown Opera Company. She enjoys her work in educational outreach as well as directing and performing with the non-profit organization, which she helped co-found in 2023.
