About Cameron Beaver
I started playing trumpet since I was 11 in Middle School, it took me awhile to fall in love, but due to my amazing high school band director, I quickly realized that music was my passion and I used it to better myself in every way. Since graduation, I’ve been pursuing my passion for a Career in music. I’ve been named principal chair of both the Wind Ensemble and the Chamber Orchestra numerous times as well as earning a consistent lead trumpet/soloist spot in the Big Band. I even made an international Debut in 2018 all the way to the Kay Meek Center in Vancouver, Canada. Aside from this I’m also active in my local music community, playing with many different types of ensembles, and performing with churches nearly every Sunday.
Aside from this, another passion of mine is Marching Band/Drum Corps, as I’ve marched with the Colts DB&C in 2014, The Blue Stars DB&C in 2018 and Carolina Gold DB&C as a soloist for every year 2013,17,18,19. I have also performed the musicals ‘Annie’ (twice), The Wiz, and Spamalot as a pit musician. I have taught at public schools with 3 different marching bands ever since 2016. These tenures were with Central Cabarrus High School (current), Hickory Ridge HS, and Northwest Cabarrus HS. All bands that I have worked with have been highly praised and awarded numerous times with Grand Champion trophies every year I was with a group. I have placed many students into their District Honor Bands as well as other local Honor groups, including many more in their local County bands.
I make a constant effort to keep communication at the forefront of my agenda as well as meticulously plan for my student’s next lessons. Music for me, was essentially a life saver. The time that I spent with my band director very much shaped the person who I am today. I have fallen in love with teaching because I get to share my passion with the next generation and get the opportunity to try and instill it in them as well. As much as I love performing, seeing my students progress is so much more rewarding for me as seeing my students succeed not only as musicians, but also as people is what truly makes my day.
