About Ying
A 15+ years of teaching experience in CA to both young age children and adults. Ying’s teaching method is a combination of the Suzuki method and traditional method, depending on students’ ages, levels and capabilities, using both the Suzuki violin Series books as well as etudes, ensemble and solo music. As a teacher, she has been guided by the quote, “Any child is able to display highly superior abilities if only the correct methods are used in training.”
The core teaching skills including following: Adept at identifying the needs of each student as well as the student’s strengths and weaknesses; Personalizing instruction to help each student overcome specific hurdles; Helping students build a solid foundation for their future learning; and Encourage them and celebrating students’ growth in their musical journey.
Ying’s students have shown great performance at local orchestras as well as high schools in San Ramon. Some are the members of California Youth Symphony CODA Music Program.
Ying has received training in both the traditional and Suzuki methods. She studied music at Diablo Valley College CA and holds a Suzuki violin teacher certificate from SMA. She is fluent in three languages and has a Master’s degree in Education.
