About Adam Briere
San Francisco based musician, drummer, educator, and bandleader, Adam Briere, started playing the drums at the early age of five. He was influenced by the greats such as John Bonham, Elvin Jones, Mitch Mitchell, Stewart Copeland, and Mel Lewis. At an early age, he quickly became immersed in the San Francisco music scene, playing everything from Rock to Jazz and Fusion.
Adam received a BFA in Jazz Performance from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, in New York. While in New York he studied and worked with influential musicians such as Adam Nussbaum, Allison Miller, Henry Cole, Billy Harper, Matt Wilson, Oz Noy, and Reggie Workman. Adam is a member of the San Francisco based rock band Spirit Hustler. He also leads his own 18-piece Big Band consisting of friends and colleagues, paying tribute to the music of Thad Jones, Mel Lewis and Count Basie, as well as original compositions and arrangements from members of the band.
Adam has performed at many clubs and festivals including Nublu, Yoshi’s, Summer Stage in Central Park, Modern Sky Music Festival, Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, The Royal Room, Sweet Water Music Hall and Jazz Camp West.
