About Kayla Tan
Kayla Tan is a dedicated pianist and student based in the Bay Area who began her musical journey at the age of five. Her passion for piano has earned her recognition in numerous prestigious events and competitions. Notably, she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City after winning First Place in the American Protégé International Competition and has achieved the California Certificate of Merit Advanced Level 10.
Kayla has earned top honors in both national and international competitions, including First Place in the 2024 20th Century Music Competition and Second Place in the 2025 International Piano Competition, both through the Charleston International Music Competition. Her achievements have been recognized by major media outlets, including NBC and AP News.
In addition to her performance experience, Kayla has a strong background in teaching and working with students of various ages. She is passionate about creating a supportive, engaging learning environment and is committed to helping each student grow in both skill and confidence.
