About Kaelyn Howard
Lyric soprano Kaelyn Howard is a passionate performing artist and music educator, and her journey as a musician began at a young age. In middle school, she learned her first instrument: flute. From that point onward, she dove into any and every musical opportunity. Miss Kaelyn’s experience varies as a former instrumentalist; previously to her pursuit in a career as a classical singer, her primary instruments included flute and mallet percussion.
As an ensemble member, she has been a member of the RCC Chamber Singers, RCC Marching Tigers (Hollywood’s Band), and the San José State Choraliers. As a performing artist, she has performed in the roles of Angelina in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury (2022), Cinderella’s Step Mother in Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods (2022), Iolanthe in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Iolanthe (2023), and chorus member for Andrea Bocelli. As a professional musician, Miss Kaelyn focuses primarily on classical and choral music, however, she is and always has been a singer that enjoys contemporary music.
Miss Kaelyn graduated in 2023 from San José State University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education with a minor in African American Studies. She views music as an everlasting journey and transformative experience that can have several paths and outcomes. Miss Kaelyn’s goal for all students is to inspire growth and embrace change. Her approach to teaching centers mindfulness and well-being to ensure that she and her students can foster positive musical experiences.
