About Nasim Khorassani
Nasim Khorassani is an ASCAP composer, sound artist, and educator. She holds a PhD in Music Composition from UC San Diego.
As a composer, Nasim’s music exhibits many different approaches to visuality, emotional connection, and language. Her works have been performed by the No Exit New Music Ensemble, the Del Sol String Quartet, and many others, including La Jolla Symphony Orchestra. She has also been featured on the “Composers Now IMPACT Series” and in the 77th Ojai Music Festival. Her current project is “Home,” an opera commissioned by Project [Blank] San Diego.
As a teacher, Nasim seeks to bring out the inner musician in every student. Through a solid foundation of musical theory, she helps her students find their method of expression and connect to the music that emotionally resonates with them. Her lessons emphasize technical fundamentals that lead to strong playing over time. Nasim wants all of her students to feel proud of their playing!
