About Levi McClung
Levi McClung is a classically trained baritone who’s career spans nearly two decades. He has directed several worship bands, barbershop quartets, and collegiate lyric theater productions. In addition, he has conducted men’s, women’s, and mixed choirs, pit orchestras, as well as assistant directed several high school and collegiate musicals and opera scenes programs. Levi received Choral and Lyric Theater Scholarships to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. where he double majored in Vocal Performance and Choral Education. He then received an artist grant to study at Technische Universität Dortmund in Dortmund, Germany where he trained briefly as a counter tenor.
At the age of 13 Levi began leading a local youth worship ministry where he first heard the calling to pursue a life of music. At 16, Levi won a National Barbershop Association 4th Place State Championship with the Tempest Quartet, and at 18 the Fred Waring Directors Award for Outstanding Achievement. In 2018, his college production of Die Zauberflöte won first place in the National Opera Association’s National Production Competition. Levi’s proudest achievements by far however, are those of his students, several of whom have gone on to start profitable full-time music careers of their own.
As a voice teacher Levi specializes in Bel canto, a centuries old tradition in the “Italian School” of opera with an emphasis on musicianship and healthy technique. Repertoire may include English and Italian art songs and arias, German lieder, gospel, and musical theatre; and sometimes even pop, rock, and jazz.

But so in music as in life, to find ones true voice one first must know how to listen.”
Now based in Austin, Levi performs with many groups in the community including Chorus Austin, Austin Gay Men’s Chorus, and the GRAMMY® award winning Conspirare.
